About My Sound Mind

Welcome

Welcome to My Sound Mind, I am Leah Jacobsen. I must first say that I am who I am because of God in my life. I love him more than anyone or anything else. My heart’s desire is to walk the path that he lays before me. I believe in the gifts of the Spirit and the power of Jesus Christ in us and the ability of lives to be changed forever. The name for My Sound Mind came from the first scripture I ever memorized, II Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The Lord has changed my life through this scripture and continues to give me deeper revelation of it daily.

I am married. Hubby and I have four children, three wonderful boys, and a darling daughter. My children are precious to me, and I thank God that He chose me to be their mother. We have home schooled our children and are in a season of getting the oldest three launched into the world. I am a passionate person. I love life, music, learning new things, the beach, sunsets, coffee, and chocolate. I have a passion to help people become all that God would have them be. It’s my heart to see people set free and fitted into their perfect place in the world and in the Kingdom of God. It is also my heart to see people come together in community to fellowship, encourage, love, support, and help each other in times of happiness and in times of need. I thank you for taking the time to visit and read this blog. Be Blessed my friends.

The Vision

The vision of this blog is to help you walk out life true to the scripture that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I hope to make you laugh, cry, think deeper, be inspired, love your fellow man more, feel better about being you, and most of all, leave feeling encouraged and closer to the Lord. Whether writing about my personal life, God’s word, parenting, or whatever The Lord is putting on my heart, I hope you enjoy reading this blog, leave feeling encouraged and less alone, and start to believe that we can make a difference in our own lives, and those around us, one step at a time.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.
