Bound No More

Posted on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday is “Bound No More”. I have been working on this poem for a few weeks and last week it all came together. I love the song “Break Every Chain” and was inspired to write this poem while listening to that song. Enjoy and Be Blessed my friends.

-John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed

Bound No More

I hear the chains falling,
Falling onto the ground.
I hear my God, His voice is calling,
I once was lost but now I’m found.

I hear the chains falling,
There is freedom from my sin.
I hear my God, His voice is calling,
Telling me it doesn’t matter where I’ve been.

I hear the chains falling,
No longer afraid to leave the safety of the shore.
I hear the Lord, His voice is calling.
You’re set free, delivered, reborn.

I hear the chains falling,
I’m going deeper than before
I hear my Lord, He is calling,
You’re the one that I adore

I hear the chains falling,
Falling off my feet and hands
I hear my Lord, He is calling,
Saying it is time to take a stand.

I hear the chains falling,
No longer held in captivity.
I hear my Father, his voice is calling,
Dance my child, you are free.

Kingdom Journey

Posted on Updated on

Today’s Poetry Tuesday feature is hot off the presses by yours truly. I hope you enjoy it. Be Blessed my friends.

Kingdom Journey

How deep is your love?
No way to measure,
No beginning, no end,
More valuable than treasure.

How far does grace abound?
There’s no place it can’t reach,
Overcoming all things,
And repairing the breach.

How high was the price?
Paid on the cross,
Creating the bridge,
Enabling us to cross.

How close are you Lord?
When we draw near,
When we abandon it all
And step away from our fear.

How powerful is our shout?
When we give you praise,
When walls fall down,
And trails are blazed.

How defeated is the enemy?
When we take a stand,
Fight with your truth,
And take back our land.

How powerful is the faith?
You give to all,
When mountains are moved,
And we follow our call.

How will we feel?
When we see your face
Well done my servant,
You’ve finished your race.

All questions answered,
In your perfect time,
And together we’ll be
My beloved and mine.

The Uncertain

Posted on Updated on

Getting back in the swing of things here with this week’s Poetry Tuesday feature poem by yours truly. I read an article this morning about how doubt is like cloud that starts out small and then can become a large storm cloud in our life. I had written a few lines of this poem and today finished it up. Enjoy and be blessed my friends.

The Uncertain

Uncertainty lies within us all,
Will we succeed or will we fall?
For tomorrow is unknown.
Hidden, unrevealed and unshown.
Often afraid of what we can’t control,
Doubt creeps in and grips our soul.
But adventures await to unfold,
We must take a risk, we must be bold.
One answer proved to be true,
If life is too easy, it will be hard for you.

God Identified

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday feature is a poem about trying to create our own identity and coming to the place of realizing we can only find our true identity in Christ. Be blessed my friends.

God Identified

Who are we?
Searching for ourselves
Trying to build a dream
That always seems to fail

Spinning imaginations
Out of control
Creating an image
On which to hold

Forgetting that it’s simple
Looking the wrong way
Focused on self
Forgetting to pray

All that we need
All that we are
He already gave
And bore the scars

Ask our Father for
Identity revealed
Based in the truth
Not in how we feel

A lesson we learn
In God identified
Created with purpose
Delivered, transformed and sanctified.

Ephesians 1:4 According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love

Freedom Fighters

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday feature is a poem I have wanted to write for a few months. After working on it now for awhile, here it is. Be blessed my friends.

Freedom Fighters

We will no longer be enslaved
The chains must fall
Bound no more
To an unfinished call

Warriors standing anchored
On God’s holy ground
Never giving up
Until the lost are all found

Setting the captives free
Willing to pay the price
Fighting for the Kingdom
An ultimate sacrifice

Laying down our lives
Racing after the King
We pray for the supernatural
We believe in the unseen.

Pulling down every stronghold
With an enemy to defeat
A war to be won
A task to complete.

We wrestle in battle
Beyond what eyes can see
We wear Gods armor
And our enemy must flee

As bond servants of Christ
We will stand strong
Unrelenting, unwavering,
To the Kingdom we belong

Filled with His power
Battles fought and won
We will keep marching
Until the battles are done

United together
Freedom Fighters fight
Shining into the darkness
His undying light.

Ephesians 6:11-17 (NKJV)

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Restoration

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday is a new poem, by yours truly, that came out of the thought that we need our foundation built on Jesus. He is the rock and a firm foundation. He made us with purpose and can fix all things in our lives and restore us to who He intended us to be from the foundations of the earth. Be blessed my friends.

Restoration

Take us back to the beginning
Take us back to the foundation of you
Before the beginning of time
Where we were brand new

Take us back to the beginning
Before we were torn in two
Before things were broken
Take us back to the foundation of you

Take me back to the beginning God
Take me to the place of being new
Take me back to the beginning
Take me back to the foundation of you

Ocean Tide

Posted on Updated on

This week’s feature for Poetry Tuesday is an oldie of mine. On this beautiful day, I am thinking of being at the beach next week, so I felt this poem was appropriate. Be blessed my friends.

Ocean Tide

I love the summer sea
Just sitting on the sand
Horizon far as I can see
Tides rolling to me
No sighting of land

Sailboat, sailing in the breeze
Above seagulls fly
Set my soul at ease
Looking to the seas
Waves crashing nearby

Surrounded by salty air
Feeling small yet free
Not a day could be more fare
Nor filled with any care
As the sun sets beautifully.
