Kingdom Journey

Today’s Poetry Tuesday feature is hot off the presses by yours truly. I hope you enjoy it. Be Blessed my friends.

Kingdom Journey

How deep is your love?
No way to measure,
No beginning, no end,
More valuable than treasure.

How far does grace abound?
There’s no place it can’t reach,
Overcoming all things,
And repairing the breach.

How high was the price?
Paid on the cross,
Creating the bridge,
Enabling us to cross.

How close are you Lord?
When we draw near,
When we abandon it all
And step away from our fear.

How powerful is our shout?
When we give you praise,
When walls fall down,
And trails are blazed.

How defeated is the enemy?
When we take a stand,
Fight with your truth,
And take back our land.

How powerful is the faith?
You give to all,
When mountains are moved,
And we follow our call.

How will we feel?
When we see your face
Well done my servant,
You’ve finished your race.

All questions answered,
In your perfect time,
And together we’ll be
My beloved and mine.

By Faith

Posted on Updated on

Faith changes everything. In fact, the bible says, without faith it is impossible to please God.
Living by faith has been very hard throughout my life. Especially when faith leads me out of my
comfort zone and doubts flood my mind. Sometimes I walk in fear, rather than walking in faith. A
great war rages inside me, as fear and faith duke it out. I would like to say that faith wins out
most of the time, but truly, I am not for sure. I do know that my life has been transformed again
and again by faith. I am thankful for that and left wanting more.

When I think of faith, I often think of Peter walking on the water. It is one of my favorite stories in
the bible. Peter says, Jesus, if it’s really you, tell me to come and I will. When Jesus said come,
out of the boat Peter went walking on the water. It was only when Peter saw his circumstances
and took his eye off Jesus that he began to sink. Jesus said “oh ye of little faith why did you
doubt?”

Jesus took Peter’s hand and said oh ye of little faith. My question has always been if Peter had
little faith, what about the ones in the boat? In my life, I feel too often like the ones in the boat,
when I really want to be Peter walking on the water. I am in a season of my faith growing. Back
in the summer I talked about the times in life when we must take a leap of faith. I find that the
more times I leap, the more faith I have for the next leap. Not that it becomes easier, but my
faith has given me more courage. Like Peter, even when I have taken my eyes off of Jesus, he
has stretched his hand out to catch me. I am learning to trust Jesus more, even when I don’t
understand how or why. I guess if I knew the how or why, it wouldn’t be faith anyway. For the
true definition of faith is ” the things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” so if we can see
it, then we don’t need faith.

As we go into 2015, I hope to live my life more like Peter by getting out of the boat. As the war of
faith versus fear rages inside of me, I will try to have at least a little faith and take the first step
out of the boat. I will remember Hebrews 11and hope for the evidence of things not seen. I will
hope to live my life in a Hebrews chapter 11 kind of way.

I love Hebrews chapter 11. I love to go down the scriptures and look at them reading by faith…
By faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God, By faith Abel offered a
sacrifice, by faith Enoch was taken away, by faith Noah built the Ark, by faith Abraham obeyed,
By faith Sarah conceived a child, By faith Isaac blessed Jacob, By faith Moses was hidden, By
faith they passed through the Red Sea, By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, By faith, by faith,
by faith. I want that kind of faith. I’m renewing my mind and seeking that kind of faith. I just need
a mustard seed size right? Just think what our lives can look like with a little more faith. Be
blessed my friends.

O Holy Night

Posted on Updated on

In honor of Jesus Christ, the reason for the season, this week’s Poetry Tuesday feature is “O Holy Night” I have many favorite songs, both Christmas and non Christmas, but his one would rank high on the either list regardless of whether it is considered a Christmas song of not. Oh what a night when our savior was born. Truly a holy night. Some of the lyrics in this song move me to tears. Fall on your knees, Chains shall he break, O night divine. Such powerful words. I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas. Be blessed my friends.

O Holy Night

O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth;
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
‘Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;

Fall on your knees,
Oh, hear the angels voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O night divine! O night divine.

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand;
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our Friend;
He knows our need, To our weakness is no stranger.
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace;
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother,
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name;

Christ is the Lord
Oh, praise His name forever!
His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!
His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!

Noel, noel, noel.
Oh night, oh night divine.

A Shawdow Of A Doubt

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday is a powerful spoken word by Joseph Solomon. This spoken word is incredible and has me thinking of my own doubts and fears and what God’s truth says about them. Take a few minutes to watch my friends and then ask yourselves; Do I have a backpack of fear? What are my questions and doubts? Then together let’s lean on the one with all the answers. Let’s open our ears and mustard up just a little bit of faith and courage. And let’s doubt our doubts together. Be blessed my friends.

Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday feature is Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble by Delirious? I have always loved this song. Listening to this song is one of the first times I remember The Lord giving me a vision. It was a vision of the Body of Christ in my city coming together and reaching the nations. I love the lyrics and the message… that there is power in unity. I love the live version that I shared below. So my friends be blessed and let’s sing together.

Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ, the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ, the saving one

And we can see that God you’re moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen one

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singin’
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Do you feel the darkness tremble
When all the saints join in one song?
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that God, you’re moving
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singin’
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

And we can see that God, you’re moving
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord, yeah, yeah

Open up the doors and let the music play
And let the streets resound with singin’
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Open up the doors and let the music play
And let the streets resound with singin’

Am I Wrong?

Posted on

Have you ever felt like nobody gets you? Do you ever ask the question am I wrong for thinking the way that I do? For wanting to see more than what’s in front of you? To go along with my last post, A Leap of Faith, this week’s Poetry Tuesday is about faith and vision. At least that is what this song means to me. It means think out of the box, believe in the impossible and never give up on your dreams. Enjoy and be blessed my friends.

Am I wrong
For thinking out the box from where I stay?
Am I wrong
For saying that I choose another way?
I ain’t trying to do what everybody else doin’
Just ’cause everybody doin’ what they all do
If one thing I know, I’ll fall but I’ll grow
I’m walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home

So am I wrong?
For thinking that we could be something for real?
Now am I wrong?
For trying to reach the things that I can’t see?
But that’s just how I feel,
That’s just how I feel
That’s just how I feel
Trying to reach the things that I can’t see (see, see, see)

Am I tripping
For having a vision?
My prediction
I’ma be on the top of the world
Walk your walk and don’t look back,
Always do what you decide
Don’t let them control your life, that’s just how I feel oh whoa
Fight for yours and don’t let go,
Don’t let them compare you, no
Don’t worry, you’re not alone, that’s just how we feel

Am I wrong? (am I wrong?)
For thinking that we could be something for real?
(Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, oh)
Now am I wrong? (am I wrong?)
For trying to reach the things that I can’t see?
(Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah)
That’s just how I feel,
But that’s just how I feel
That’s just how I feel
Trying to reach the things that I can’t see (see, see, see)

If you tell me I’m wrong, wrong
I don’t wanna be right, right
If you tell me I’m wrong, wrong
I don’t wanna be right
If you tell me I’m wrong, wrong
I don’t wanna be right, right
If you tell me I’m wrong, wrong
I don’t wanna be right

Am I wrong?
For thinking that we could be something for real?
Now am I wrong?
For trying to reach the things that I can’t see?
But that’s just how I feel,
But that’s just how I feel
That’s just how I feel
Trying to reach the things that I can’t see (see, see, see)

So am I wrong? (am I wrong?)
For thinking that we could be something for real?
(Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, oh)
Now am I wrong? (am I wrong?)
For trying to reach the things that I can’t see?
(Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah)
But that’s just how I feel,
That’s just how I feel
But that’s just how I feel
Trying to reach the things that I can’t see (see, see, see)
