Freedom Fighters

Posted on Updated on

This week’s Poetry Tuesday feature is a poem I have wanted to write for a few months. After working on it now for awhile, here it is. Be blessed my friends.

Freedom Fighters

We will no longer be enslaved
The chains must fall
Bound no more
To an unfinished call

Warriors standing anchored
On God’s holy ground
Never giving up
Until the lost are all found

Setting the captives free
Willing to pay the price
Fighting for the Kingdom
An ultimate sacrifice

Laying down our lives
Racing after the King
We pray for the supernatural
We believe in the unseen.

Pulling down every stronghold
With an enemy to defeat
A war to be won
A task to complete.

We wrestle in battle
Beyond what eyes can see
We wear Gods armor
And our enemy must flee

As bond servants of Christ
We will stand strong
Unrelenting, unwavering,
To the Kingdom we belong

Filled with His power
Battles fought and won
We will keep marching
Until the battles are done

United together
Freedom Fighters fight
Shining into the darkness
His undying light.

Ephesians 6:11-17 (NKJV)

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

A Leap of Faith

Posted on Updated on

Sometimes taking a leap of faith can be the hardest thing we can try to do in life. So many questions can clog up our brain. How is this supposed to work? Why am I supposed to take this leap? When is the right time? What if I fail? So many questions can instantly quench our faith and produce fear and insecurity.

If it is directions from God, then it can be even harder. We may ask ourselves. Did I really hear God’s voice? We may ask, God are you sure? What will other people of me and my decisions? Or even ask, what if I am wrong and didn’t really hear God to begin with.

Well, I guess that is why it is a leap of faith. If we knew all of those answers then faith would not be required. Sometimes to get to the next level, our only choice is faith. To pray, ask God, and then jump into the deep end, into the unknown, hoping for the courage to carry on and for the end result. I have been at this point many times in life. When my hubby and I started a family. When we decided to homeschool our children. When we started a business. All of those “leaps” required faith and God has been faithful. So why do I make it so hard?

I think we make it so hard, because we like to be in control. We like to have the answers. We like our warm and fuzzy comfort zone. But if you are like me, all of the best things in my life came with a price. They came with a required leap of faith. But even though that is the case and God has been faithful. It is still really hard to leap, to follow my dreams, and to follow the vision that God has given me for my life. I feel like the obstacles are great and the risk is high. But yet, the reward is beyond measure. So what is a girl to do? What will you do when God asks you to leap?

If I want what God has, then I must leap. Maybe I will count it down 3, 2, 1… But most likely I will pray for courage. I will pray for God to surround me with people of encouragement. I will remember Hebrews 11, verse 1, because I really want the things I cannot see. And most importantly, I will ask God to hold my hand and to catch me when I fall. He is faithful and His word does not return void.

God in me has made me bold… so God, I trust you. I will follow you to the ends of the world.

So friends, this is my heart. If you are in a place where you need to take a leap, know you are not alone. Be Blessed my friends

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heart Runs

Posted on

Okay so life has been crazy, so Poetry Tuesday is on Wednesday this week. This week’s feature is Heart Runs by John Mark McMillan off of his new album. I love this song. It is very powerful. I also posted the video. Enjoy my friends.

Like deer to the pool
I’m coming after you
Like a thirsty animal
My heart is for your love

Like Jonah from the deep
I’m coming out of my sleep
To find the secrets that you keep
Is the only thing worth rising for

From the dirt you’ve drawn me out
And you draw me out again
I’m coming back from the dead
I’m coming out of my skin

And you are everything my heart wants
Everything my heart wants
And my heart runs
My heart runs after you

Like breakers on the shore
You’re knocking on my door
Like the deepest places in you
Calling to the fountains of my soul

From the dirt you’ve drawn me out
And you draw me out again
I’m coming back from the dead
I’m coming out of my skin

And you are everything my heart wants
Everything my heart wants
And my heart runs
My heart runs after you

(So) My heart runs
(So) My heart runs
(So) My heart runs
My heart runs after you
